CAD data are the basic framework. The variant configuration is the individual offer to the customer. Added to this are good relationship management and pricing. Until an ERP system is a satisfactory quotation and sales system, it needs many adaptations. SAP partner SAE has solved this Gordian knot. Peter M. Industry 4.0 initiatives support the trend towards customized product variants and the sale of machine and plant systems. Thus, sales become a digitization driver: new, innovative next-generation CPQ (Configure Price Quote) software, the symbiosis of ERP master data and object dependencies with an interactive Virtual Reality configuration and simulation display, is required.

The speed of innovation in Configure Price Quote software has always been high. Numerous medium sized enterprises and large companies benefit from the constant innovations and further developments.

Many SAP user companies are currently following the trend of consolidating their IT landscapes with ERP as the central system. In doing so, they are also redesigning the archiving processes for SAP and non-SAP related documents. The following examples show the use of KGS solutions.

CAD integration in Industry 4.0-specific business processes is still in its infancy. The development and change process in product development must first be established and realized.
