SAP Solution: Cloud-Only

Rarely before has the community been so surprised by SAP: the share price is reaching all-time highs, innovation is at rock bottom, and customers are angry and unsettled.
What’s right is wrong. Sooner or later, SAP CEO Christian Klein will be right with his "cloud-only" postulate.
SAP is going cloud-only and is inciting discussion in the SAP community. The move to the cloud has been on the horizon for many years, and now every company must ask itself what this means for its own future.
In addition to the inevitable topic of AI, Christian Klein's keynote at the DSAG Congress focused on the Business Technology Platform. Naturally, he also addressed the cloud-only strategy and what on-prem customers can expect in the future.
SAP is considering code splitting for S/4 Hana because many existing R/3 and Business Suite 7 customers distrust the promises of cloud computing, and SAP apparently gives hybrid ERP little chance.
In all ERP transformation projects, the focus is on the business processes, whether there are changes or not. With S/4, this is necessary at least because of the new SAP technologies or the possibility of simplifications.
There are lights and shadows in SAP's strategy analysis: The Linux decision was absolutely right!
There are sensible cloud concepts, but food is eaten at home.
Adoption of cloud services is on the rise: driving IT transformation in modern enterprises that are increasingly relying on Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI), containers, and DevOps to address today's market demands.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
