SAP solution: Covid

The global crisis triggered by COVID-19 is highlighting a knowledge gap in leaders and managers that leaves them unprepared to respond to complex phenomena.

The switch to S/4 Hana is an important factor for SAP customers to drive the digital transformation. Now it's almost half-time: introduced five years ago and without an announced maintenance extension, ECC and R/3 would be over in five years.

In response to Covid-19, companies are reducing their spending on managed services. However, there is still strong demand for cloud services that enable distributed working.

Confidence is growing in the ICT sector following the Covid 19 shock. According to Bitkom, the business climate brightened considerably in June 2020 for companies in the information technology, telecommunications and consumer electronics (ICT) sector compared with the previous two months.

Companies depend on technologies that provide them with reliable information. SAP wants to meet the responsibility of meeting this requirement with new initiatives.

"Only somewhat," say 65 percent of participants in an Appian study. Automation technologies are only "somewhat effective" in providing all the necessary data, they say.

According to the digital association Bitkom, it is the task of politics and business alike to drive digitization forward boldly and decisively in times of corona crisis.

Of course, our high level of data protection is a great achievement and sensitive data does not belong in e-mails without encryption. But that is no reason to dispense with digitization altogether.
