SAP Solution: Data theft

Older semesters may still remember the first global virus with the friendly e-mail signature "I Love You". A short time later, I spoke with Gerd Oswald, then a member of the SAP Executive Board, at a European Sapphire in Nice, France, about the virus threat in SAP systems.

Seven out of ten industrial companies have been victims of sabotage, data theft or espionage in the past two years.

To increase their purchasing success, more and more companies are introducing SAP solutions for strategic supplier management. However, especially in medium-sized companies, this step requires a realignment of organizational structures and processes.

Many - perhaps all - people back up their data. But does this guarantee data availability? Data security is only guaranteed at the end when the restore has been successfully completed.
