According to the Digital Index from Bitkom and the Ifo Institute, the business climate continues to be better than in the economy as a whole.

The business climate in the digital industry improved noticeably in April. This is due to full order books at companies in the IT and telecommunications sector.

Sentiment in the digital industry deteriorated further in April. Under the impact of the Corona crisis, the business situation index fell by 20.1 points to 0.9 points.

The digital industry is defying the general trend and will again be able to increase sales significantly this year. The recession in German industry is not yet making itself felt in the information technology and telecommunications (ITC) sector, although the outlook is somewhat more subdued.
