SAP-Solution: IBM Power

Under Bill McDermott, SAP has become a successful monoculture. What sounds like "fake news" at first glance becomes obvious when a critical comparison is made with the Kagermann era. But who can still remember the former SAP CEO Professor Henning Kagermann?
After Hana, Cloud and S/4, the next big topic at SAP is support in general.
IBM expects that the 1000 mark in Hana on IBM Power systems sold will be surpassed in the current third quarter. Despite slightly higher system acquisition costs, the Hana hardware latecomer considers itself to have an advantage over the Hana on Intel competition. Flexibility, RAS and performance aspects are highlighted.
Since SAP generally released Hana to customers in 2011, there has been much speculation about the technology, architecture and usability. Since the development is progressing rapidly, the statements, documentation and information are constantly overtaking each other. The author would like to confront E-3 readers with some myths in this article and then ask: Would you have known?
Companies join forces around SAP Hana, IBM Cloud, IBM Power Systems and IBM Cognitive Computing.
A short interview with Hana busters Guido Hoepfner and Matthias Kneissl from Q-Partners.
No crystal ball is needed in the SAP community. The 2025 deadline will not be met, as all existing customers know by now. Hana and S/4 or SoH are not a technical release change. Z-functions have to be sorted out and employees trained. That takes time!

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
