SAP Solution: IBP

An ERP system is a fragile entity that needs a stable platform and excellent informatics to deliver the value users are looking for. SAP S/4 can be a huge boost to innovation if everyone knows what to do.
The window of opportunity for SAP to correct its course is closing. The next two years will determine whether SAP will become a cloud company or remain the ERP leader for standard business software.
Delivery plans are supposed to link customers and suppliers, increase efficiency and delivery reliability, and avoid bottlenecks due to the bullwhip effect. But in many cases, the plans cause more trouble than they benefit.
The latest Industry 4.0 barometer from MHP and Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich states that an uncertain future is holding back the development of Industry 4.0 in Germany. Uncertainty about the return on investment is preventing progressive digitization and automation at two-thirds of all companies. Supply chain planning is on the agenda, but operationally there are many gaps.
Instead of focusing on its core competence, SAP wants to forcefully become a cloud applications company. Everyone in the community knows that this plan will fail, because SAP's strengths lie elsewhere.

Gaps in the information and planning process often cause faulty and unstructured communication between all areas of the supply chain. Companies cannot provide their organization with the latest planning data in a timely manner, and forecast quality is impaired. Integrated Business Planning (IBP) can provide a remedy here.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion. 

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
