Stable growth in a difficult economic environment: In the Bitkom industry, sales and employment will continue to grow in 2022 despite the challenges.

Confidence is growing in the ICT sector following the Covid 19 shock. According to Bitkom, the business climate brightened considerably in June 2020 for companies in the information technology, telecommunications and consumer electronics (ICT) sector compared with the previous two months.

The USA continues to have by far the largest share of the global IT market. Business with IT is also growing particularly dynamically in China, albeit still at a low level.

IDC predicts that the global economy will achieve "digital supremacy" by 2023, accounting for more than half of total global GDP.

Telekom maintains an extensive partner network from which business customers of all sizes benefit. Certified partnerships have existed with SAP and Microsoft for more than two decades.

In September, the German government adopted the High-Tech Strategy 2025. Bitkom President Achim Berg advocates placing digitization at the heart of the effort.

The proportion of women in the ICT industry has increased only slightly since 2015. In 2017, 28 percent of all employees in IT were women. That is an increase of four percentage points compared to 2015.

Digital association corrects forecast upward

Non-European production sites and markets are becoming increasingly important. China occupies a central place alongside Brazil, Russia and India. Many German companies also produce in China and sell their products locally and in other Asian markets.

HP and SAP have enjoyed a partnership that spans more than 20 years. During this time, HP has implemented over 77,000 SAP applications worldwide. Almost half of all SAP applications run on our infrastructure. At HP, we also provide services for 1.7 million SAP users in over 50 countries.

A survey of 436 companies in Germany revealed that a good third (37 percent) used cloud computing in 2012. Compared to the previous year, this represents an increase of nine percentage points.
