SAP-Solution: Lizenzierung

A new study links unfair software licensing to a competitive distortion in the cloud infrastructure market.
Industry 4.0, IoT, cloud computing, blockchain and other key technologies associated with them harbor not only numerous opportunities but also considerable financial risks that cannot always be managed despite well thought-out project planning.
There is no such thing as one SAP licensing; everyone has different types and combinations. This quickly becomes confusing - and can also be expensive. It is therefore important to avoid major blunders. Here are the five most common mistakes.
Is there a way out of the licensing dilemma that vendors and users can and want to live with? Put simply: Since the advent of client/server computing, there have been heavy seas in the licensing business and there are only a few lighthouses.
Those who don't start building up SAP licensing expertise now will regret it when they migrate to S/4 at the latest. The British beverage company Diageo could have saved itself a lot of problems and money if it had known the true story of indirect use. The facts have been on the table since 2005.
With the introduction of Hana 2, the path to S/4 for existing SAP customers has become even more challenging. In this exclusive interview with E-3, Hinrich Mielke, Director of SAP at Alegri, outlines the advantages and disadvantages of possible changeover scenarios.
DSAG and SAP have been working together for some time to modernize the topic of licenses and adapt them to the requirements of digitization. The revision of the licensing requirement for NetWeaver Foundation for 3rd Party Applications has now been a first success.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
