SAP-Solution: Nearline Storage

As a provider of SAP add-on solutions for data management and information lifecycle management, PBS Software recently focused on its activities around S/4 Hana at its 19th Info Day. The auditorium's answer to a question about S/4 was quite enlightening.

New features in existing solutions were the focus of this year's PBS Software Information Day. So was a new development called PBS Operational Analytics for ERP (OA4ERP). The solution offering of the long-standing SAP partner is already in the starting blocks for S/4 and BW/4 Hana use.

Until now, the effort required to update archived BW data was very high, because so-called stragglers could not be posted directly to nearline storage. This kept many BW users from archiving data.

The analysis of large amounts of data is becoming increasingly important due to trends such as Big Data, Industry 4.0, but also in traditional applications.

Growing data volumes and deteriorating query performance prompted an existing SAP customer to implement a nearline storage solution. The timeframe for the project was tight. NLS archiving can be performed during the year-end closing process.
