SAP Solution: Self service

Amazon has changed the rules of the game in retail once and for all. Customizing systems is no longer a recipe for success. Instead, it's the service that counts.

In Germany's manufacturing industry, three out of four companies already obtain IT services from the cloud. But how can the actual costs be efficiently determined in a complex multi-cloud environment in order to optimize cloud costs?

I gave a brief history of SAP and third-party BI solutions in use in my last article in E-3 Magazine (p.12, September 2016). The realization that more and more SAP users are now attracted to Microsoft front-end solutions is still valid. Basically, the entire BI train around SAP has picked up speed and it is not slowing down.

Allgeier decided to complete its IT product portfolio by setting up an SAP business unit with Allgeier Enterprise Services (ES). The targeted growth could not be realized with classic methods. Therefore, innovative approaches to business development and process implementation had to be chosen right from the start.

Transparency is necessary for the business department: They want to be informed if the message has not been transferred in the SAP ECC system inbound or outbound. If a message was sent successfully from SAP, they need reliable information about whether the message has arrived.

The digital structural change is leading to profound changes in industrial purchasing. The days of operational purchasing as an organizational unit are numbered. Procurement processes are largely automated - also via Ariba and S/4.

Thanks to cloud, Hana and mobile, SAP is off to a strong start in 2013, in line with IDC's 2013 predictions that 90 percent of IT market growth will come from "3rd Platform" technologies between 2013 and 2020.
