But while SAP is celebrating the digital transformation with S/4 at one pole, existing customers are trying to keep the IT infrastructure and ERP architecture running at the other pole.

A double challenge for SAP's existing customers: How to bring Abap modifications from the Z namespace to S/4 and how to realize future customization on the SAP Business Technology Platform?

With S/4, SAP is not only getting the Hana database, but also a new basic concept. It took a long time, too long for some existing SAP customers, for SAP managers to agree on a concept for consolidating the Z namespace and the purchased applications.
