New nearline solution<\/h3>\n
PBS Software has introduced its latest nearline storage add-on under SAP IQ. It can be used both under classic BW platforms and seamlessly under BW on Hana.<\/p>\n
It also supports migration to SAP BW on Hana, even for non-Unicode systems or older release statuses under traditional databases. The PBS add-on is largely integrated into SAP's own NLS solution.<\/p>\n
The nearline data is available under BW on Hana either directly via the SAP NLS standard or via the numerous PBS add-on functions. The advantage of the solution is that primary or nearline databases do not have to be converted to Unicode before migration and nearline data does not have to be migrated.<\/p>\n
This minimizes the costs for the migration. If data is moved from the in-memory database to the nearline storage database SAP IQ during Hana operation, this in turn reduces license costs.<\/p>\n
